Super Sunday

Are you as excited as I am for Super Bowl LV? This year it's being played on Sunday, February 7th at the "Ray Jay" Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida!  It is the home stadium of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League as well as the NCAA's South Florida Bulls football team. If you've never been to Tampa, make sure you go someday! The Tampa Bay area and it's people are fantastic! I'm super excited too for the half-time show which will feature Grammy award winning The Weeknd. This year's Super Bowl event will be a bit different due to the Covid19 pandemic restrictions. Masks will be required and fans will be socially distanced six feet apart in "pods." The seating capacity at RayJay is a little over 65,000 so actual fan attendance is expected to be about 22,000 The NFL has also invited 7,500 vaccinated health care workers to the Super Bowl. Just wish I had a few tickets for game day! Well, I don't see that happening so I will have to enjoy it from my own home which isn't all that bad! The family in my immediate "rona bubble" love any excuse to eat and drink, and of course, watch some football. This year the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to repeat last year's victory. Their 2020 Super Bowl appearance ended with a 31-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. This year's opponent on February 7th will be the hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their new quarterback, Tom Brady, is looking to add another Super Bowl ring to his collection of six! This will be Brady's tenth Super Bowl appearance (his first as a member of the Bucs), more than any other player in NFL history. So who will you be rooting for on Sunday, February 7th? We've got a mixed bag of fans in our bubble, young and old, joining us for the day.
